These days most people prefer Varget so you will find most 223 and 308 loads using this powder. I've used both and now I use Varget. IMO there is no particular reason for Varget over 4064 other than Varget might meter a little better than 4064. IMR4064 is one powder that is specifically recommended by Speer for gas-operated service rifles, it's the top powder listed for 8mm Mauser, and it's mid-range for .223 (better than the BL-C (2) I've been using, too).
